If you are reporting a wrong reading, the two things that make it solvable are the grid the app showed and where you actually were, plus which datum you had selected.
Common questions
The grid does not match my map. Why?
Almost always the datum. A sheet printed before the 1980s is likely NAD27, and a NAD27 grid differs from a WGS84 one by anything from a couple of metres to about a hundred, depending on where you are. The datum is printed in the map collar. Set the same one in More, and the numbers line up.
The bearing is wrong near my truck.
It is, and no app can fix that. The compass is a magnetometer, and metal, engines, speakers and phone cases with magnets in them all pull it. Step ten metres away from the vehicle and take the bearing again. The app shows a low-confidence marker when the sensor reports poor calibration, but it cannot detect every source of interference.
My pace count seems off.
A pace count is a personal measurement, and it changes with load, terrain, slope, fatigue and footwear. It is not a number you calibrate once. Recalibrate with the pack you are actually carrying, on ground like the ground you will walk. The app applies terrain and slope corrections on top of your calibrated figure, and shows you the resulting count rather than the multiplier it used.
Does it work with no signal?
Yes. Positioning comes from the satellites, not from the network, so grids, bearings, distances, pace count and resection all work in airplane mode. Maps are the exception: download the area you need before you go, from More, Offline maps. What you have not downloaded will not draw.
Where do my waypoints go if I delete the app?
They go away. There is no account and no server, so there is no copy anywhere else. Export what you want to keep as GPX, KML or CSV first.
How accurate is it?
The coordinate conversion agrees with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's own implementation to within a metre. Your position is a separate question, and it is the weaker of the two: satellite positioning degrades under tree cover, in valleys and near cliffs. The app shows the accuracy estimate the device reports, and dims the digits when the fix goes stale, so you can see when to stop trusting it.
